Are you brand new to heels dance? You’re in luck! It’s so easy to start heels dance from the comfort of your own home through all the online classes that are available nowadays.
Most people start heels dance because they want to feel sexy, hot, and more in tune with their bodies. At Bloom, we believe that is possible while also delivering high quality dance education - giving our students the space to feel good about their bodies, while also teaching them proper heels technique so they improve as dancers.
Our online school strikes the perfect balance between taking class for enjoyment and also learning about body alignment, balance, and improvement without injuries. If you’re starting out and have no idea where to begin amongst our 33 beginner classes (and counting), use this post as a guide.
Right at the top of the beginner section of our Online School is our Four Week Beginner Heels Challenge! This challenge introduces beginner choreography in a bite sized format. We start with Week 1 and only two counts of eight (very short) so that your brain isn’t overwhelmed. From there, we increase the amount of choreography learned. It’s a great challenge to dip your toes into dance, and to prepare you for our full-length choreo classes found in the rest of our beginner section.
Here’s what to expect:
Week 1 - Needs by Tinashe. Two counts of eight.
Week 2 - You Got The Body by Ne-Yo. Four counts of eight.
Week 3 - Houdini by Dua Lipa. Six counts of eight.
Week 4 - Work That by Megan Thee Stallion. Eight counts of eight.
Eight counts of eight is a typical length for a dance class. If you’re able to retain the choreography from Week 4, then you’re likely ready for any of the other beginner classes in our school!
Our online school is always growing, and everyone with a subscription gets access to all existing classes plus any new classes as they’re added. Now that our online school is so populated, we get that it can be overwhelming to know where to start.
Assuming that you’re a beginner dancer looking for a sexy vibe, here are the classes we’d recommend for you.
This 25 minute class is slow and technical, so you will have time to think between the movements while also being challenged by the lines and technique (which are explained, of course). In this class, I talk about showing maturity in your movement: don’t hide behind dance moves! Be confident in who you are as a dancer and relish in the simplicity.
Can you tell I love Tanerelle? This 34 minute class is very similar to the one above, but this time with some floorwork! Tap into your sensual side and try out some floorwork movement - it might be right up your alley.
Lana is always a vibe. In this 28 minute class we go through a very slow choreography, but don’t be fooled by how it looks! It’s quite challenging for beginners because it requires a lot of balance! It’s a great class to work on your balance in your heels as a beginner.
Let’s switch up the vibe. Still sexy, but with more energy and CONFIDENCE! Show me that you’re that girl in this 35 minute class that is sexy - and she knows it.
Grab your knee pads and tap into your dark energy in this 37 minute class. Lean into the dark feeling of this combo and enjoy the “dirty” feeling as you dance. Is this character easy or hard for you to tap into? Are the floorwork transitions tricky?
The beautiful thing about heels dance is that you can look for any vibe - you’re not limited to the typical “sexy” vibe, and we try to honour that in our variety of classes. For beginners, we also offer cute pop classes (think Sabrina Carpenter) and classes that are focused more on particular skills like booty isolations and arm work (On My Mama by Victoria Monet and Apple by Charli XCX).
There is something for everyone on our online heels dance school, and we always are open to class requests from our students!
Track your class completions as you go, dabble in different class categories (from sexy movement class to heels fitness), and go at your own pace. You can sign up for a monthly or an annual membership and you can cancel anytime (did we mention that the price of one month is less than the price of one in person heels class? It’s a dang good deal).
